Boy Could Face Criminal Charges For Airsoft Gun Shooting

An incident with a gun many consider a toy could result in criminal charges for a boy from Grapevine. The 12-year-old fired small plastic pellets from what's called an airsoft gun at a 4-year-old boy in his neighborhood because the younger boy squirted him with a water gun. The 4-year-old's mother tells KTVT CBS-11 the younger boy has three bruises from where he was struck.

Although many consider the airsoft guns toys, the retaliation could result in misdemeanor assault charges for the 12-year-old.

Police say they are still investigating the case, and with the number of kids who have these type guns, they'd like for the incident to serve as a warning for both children and their parents.
