A local hospital is facing tough questions from the family of a baby who died just hours after being sent home by doctors.
The four month-old apparently had a mild seizure at her home Monday night, so her mom took her to Cook's Children's Hospital. Doctors said a fever had likely caused the seizure, gave her a shot and sent her home.
Karen Evans says they found her grandaughter not breathing just hours later.
Now, the medical examiner's office is working to determine what caused her death, and Cook's Children's is investigating why doctors opted not to keep the baby overnight. |
