Alice Rios

A native of Houston, Alice Rios has been a part of the KRLD team since 1991.

Alice received her BA in Journalism and Communications with a minor in Spanish from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches.

She began her radio career in college, working for a few music stations in Nacogdoches before getting her first reporting job at  KJCS in Nac.  Alice went on to serve as News Director at  WTAW/KTSR in Bryan-College Station.  Within a year after that stint,  Alice moved on to KRLD, where she's worked as a traffic reporter, street reporter, editor and anchor.  During her tenure at  KRLD,  Alice - along with Mike Rogers - has received multiple "Best Newscast" and "Best Anchor Team" Katie and Associated Press Awards. 

While at KRLD,  Alice was a part of the team coverage the day David Koresh of the Branch Davidians called into the KRLD newsroom in 1993, was called into action the day the Shuttle Columbia blew up over East Texas in 2002, and was a part of the 9-11 coverage on KRLD.  On a lighter note, Alice has met and interviewed the likes of Marie Osmond, Glen Campbell, Naomi Judd, Jody Dean, Larry Hagman, Tony Randall and Jack Klugman, Nolan Ryan, Cal Ripkin Jr., Buzz Aldren, Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis Jr., as well as the lesser-known professional wrestling champion Mr. Fabulous( Q-ball to his inner circle).  Alice is a big fan of the JV. 

Alice serves on the board of the Denton State School, recipient of KRLD's Christmas is for Caring program.

In her spare time, Alice enjoys watching her son Lee....a straight 'A' student at Bethesda Christian School.. .play  football,  basketball and baseball.  Alice herself plays on the Fossil Creek Community church co-ed softball team. She enjoys her involvement with her church's Food Ministry as well as the choir.  And make sure to watch for Alice on stage at Johnnie High's Country Music Review in Arlington.  She auditioned and was invited to join as one of the cast members.  Alice and her son Lee live in Fort Worth....
