American Cancels Flights at DFW Airport

American Airlines has canceled about 200 flights today to inspect some wiring on its MD-80 planes.  The cancellations involve about 10-percent of American's schedule for today.   Tom Parson's with BestFares.com says this will have an impact at DFW today.  Parson's said that it is the top plane used by American out of DFW but he says it is an old plane...about 20 years of age.
A spokesman for American says the inspectors are checking to make sure the wiring is installed and secured exactly according to federal directives. He says the aircraft will be restored to service on a rolling basis throughout the day.
