Buses Ready For More Evacuees If Ike Hits Gulf Coast
The Dallas school district is sending buses to South Texas in anticipation of Hurricane Ike which is projected to hit the Gulf Coast.
The bus drivers are getting maps and instructions this morning as they continue to roll toward a staging area in San Antonio. This is the second time in recent weeks that Dallas County has sent schoolbuses to South Texas. Assistant Superintendent of Operation Terry Penn tells CBS 11 the drivers are excited to do it and happy to help.
The buses are among 350 from around the state that will help transport evacuees if needed. Shelters are expected to be open by Wednesday.
