Club Where 12 Year Old Was Dancing Nude is Closed, For Now.

The strip club in northwest Dallas surrounded by controversy since a minor was found performing there has temporarily surrendered its sexually oriented business license, city officials announced Thursday.
Diamonds Cabaret is the club where a 6th grader was found performing earlier this year. At the time, a loophole in the law prevented police from revoking its operating license. An outraged city council moved quickly to close that loophole.
Assistant City Attorney Jennifer Richie told KRLD.com that the club is in trouble now for something that was already illegal before the city council reformed the law. "Dallas city code requires that sexually oriented businesses do certain things including keep identification records for employees on site," Richie said. Diamonds Cabaret was not keeping those records on site, she said.
The club could be open again after the 30 day suspension of its license is over, Richie said.
Calls to the mangers of Diamonds Cabaret for comment have not been returned. |
