Congressmen Trip To Iraq Paid For By Saddam's Secret Police

Six years after three anti-war congressmen toured Iraq opposing the run-up to war it turns out their trip was bought and paid for by Saddam Hussein's secret police.
Democrats Jim McDermott, David Bonoir and Mike Thompson went over to Iraq in October of 2002 before the US-led invasion the following spring.
Federal prosecutors say the trip was arranged by a Michigan man named Muthanna Al-Hanooti whose charity was paid off with 2 million barrels of Iraqi oil.   Al-Hanooti has been arrested for conspiracy.
The Justice Department does not plan to charge any of the congressmen because there's no evidence they knew they were being funded by the Iraqi intelligence agency.
