The County car controversy swirling around Dallas County D-A Craig Watkins..is apparently over. Although Watkins was not authorized to drive a county car..he borrowed one while his was in the shop..and wound up having two minor accidents with it. Dallas County Commissioners noted that Craig Watkins gets a car allowance of 650 dollars a month to drive anything he wants..but not a county-car.
Commissioner Kenneth Mayfield wanted the county to look into it, but Commissioner John Wiley Price tabled the proposal in closed session..effectively killing it.
