Dallas Woman Dies In Early Morning House Fire

An elderly woman has died in an early morning house fire in South Oak Cliff.  The fire erupted just before 5 a.m. at a home near I-45 and Illinois.  The flames are now out and investigators are beginning to go through the smoldering rubble.  The medical examiner was called when a woman in her mid-to-late 60s was found dead.  Firefighters also searched for a second person who was reportedly inside the home but that person has now been accounted for.  The home has burglar bars on the windows but it's not clear whether that kept the victim from escaping.
