Farmers Branch has a new weapon to combat illegal immigration.

A Farmers Branch police officer has has finished a month of training with Customs and Immigration officials  in South Carolina.  Police Chief Sid Fuller says the officer is already a youth gang investigator and now if he comes across a suspected criminal, he can take that person into custody for immigration violation.  Fuller tells 1080 KRLD the officer is believed to be the first municipal cop to be trained by ICE under the 287 G program.
