A former University Park firefighter is suing the city claiming he was fired because of a disability.
Jason Salisbury says he was let go after he was diagnosed with post traumatic stress disorder stemming from some of the things he saw on the job, including the high-profile 1999 murder of Mary Richardson.
In an exclusive interivew with CBS-11, Salisbury says a doctor diagnosed him with PTSD, cleared him to work as a firefighter, but not a paramedic. But a University Park spokesman says the city was worried that, even as a firefighter, Salisbury might see more trauma and they decided he was not fit for the job. |
