In the state's first trial of a cheese-heroin-related death 20-year old Deleon Vanega of Dallas was sentenced to 18-years in prison today.  Vanega furnished the drug to a 15-year old who died shortly after inhaling it.  
The sentence is about half of what prosecutors were seeking but far greater than the probation term a defense lawyer had sought.
