Looking for a better price for your auto or homeowners insurance?  The Texas Department of Insurance has launched www.helpinsure.com to help. You can type in basic information and the web site will not only come up with prices from all kinds of companies but also financial information on those companies.

"What it is is really a one stop shop looking and homeowners and auto insurance products,”  says TDI’s Jerry Hagins. The web site was mandated by lawmakers to encourage people to shop around and encourage insurance companies to lower rates because of increased competition.
