A Texas environmental official takes issue with the EPA and it's ozone standards for the state. Dr. Michael Honeycutt with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality says EPA ozone standards are being set on the air outdoors, and that's not where people breathe most of their air. Honeycutt says EPA is about to set stricter standards, and current technology can't meet them. He also refutes EPA's contention that hospital visits for asthma rise with high ozone levels. He says hospital visits for asthma are higher in the winter, when ozone levels are lower. He urges EPA to use good science to set air quality standards.
