Plano Man Headed To Prison For Scamming North Texans
For a while 36-year old William Chad Mercer of Plano was a millionaire. But he got rich the wrong way and now is off to federal prison for six-and-a-half-years.
Mercer made five million dollars by submitting phony temporary employment invoices to the Sage Telecom company. His scheme lasted about 18-months before the company caught on. He was arrested and pleaded guilty last year.
