Ten People Displaced In Dallas Apartment Fire

Nearly a dozen people are homeless -- because of a bad fire in east Dallas overnight.  Just after midnight, flames started shooting out of a building at the Millennium Point Apartments near Buckner and Ferguson, southeast of White Rock Lake.  The fire quickly went to two alarms -- as firefighters found heavy fire on all three floors.  Winds whipping at 25 to 30 miles an hour also raised worries that the fire would get worse.  But fire crews knocked it down and made sure there were no injuries.  The Red Cross is now helping at least ten people who lived in five of the units.  A sixth unit was also damaged -- but it was vacant.  The cause of the fire is not yet clear -- but firefighters believe it started outside and spread to the nearby building.
