Texans Are Rushing To Get Concealed Handgun Permits
Texans are rushing to get concealed handgun permits and it might be due to the Presidential election.
The demand is so high that the Department Of Public Safety is working employees overtime and has even hired temporary help to process applications. The department's Teal Mange says in April of this year applications were 39% ahead of April last year.
What's behind the rush? Some claim Texans are afraid that an anti-gun candidate will become the next U-S President. But it could also be the result of two measures passed during last year's legislative session. One gives privacy to concealed carriers. The other extended the Castle Doctrine defense to people who use a gun to protect their home or vehicles.
