This week's KRLD Community Hero is a 7th grader who has created her own charity to help a local shelter, as well as an orphanage in Mexico.
An attorney for the Army psychiatrist charged in the mass shooting at Fort Hood says his client will have his first court hearing in his hospital room later today. Major Nidal Malik Hasan's civilian attorney, John Galligan, says the hearing will be held at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio.
Governor Rick Perry and U-S Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison -- both running to be the Republican candidate for governor next year, have agreed to debate on TV. The date is January 14. The Repu8blican Primary when you get to pick one or the other is March 2.
The Texas health department is making a flu vaccine locator available on its Web site - TexasFlu.org - to help people find the vaccines for both seasonal flu and swine flu. The locator is up now.
Denton Police have released a composite sketch of the man they believe attacked a woman while she was jogging Wednesday afternoon. Police say it happened around 1:30 on Roselawn, after the woman was overcome by some type of fumes.
