Stay Green-er Tips

What’s in…the kitchen?

More Organic
• Think beyond fresh produce.  Almost every food product starts with something farmed.  There’s wheat in pasta and tomatoes in the sauce, after all.  And don’t forget the food that mild cows eat.  Who needs toxic pesticides when you can grow stuff without them?

Eco-Smart Packaging
• Less packaging is best, but for the sake of freshness, convenience or sanitation, sometimes you need something more.  Lucky for the Earth, there are some pretty good choices that make less impact on the environment.

Clean & Green Dishwashing
• You and your family eat off those dishes every day.  You wash those dishes every day…well, usually.  That’s a lot of dishwashing product.  When you rinse your dishes, where do all the suds go?

Recycled Paper Products
• You’re closing the loop!  All that paper you so diligently recycle is looking for a new purpose in life.  Buying products made from recycled paper helps takes care of that.

Green Energy
• No, not the kind you get from eating your veggies—though that is important, of course.  The kind that now powers a growing number of homes and businesses.  Making certain choices can help increase renewable, non-petroleum-based energy sources—such as wind or solar—that “burn clean” or don’t burn at all.

Companies That Care
• #1 reason? Because you care.  Go ahead, tap the first domino (choose their products) and start a chain reaction that encourages more and mores socially responsible business in this world.

Thanks to Whole Foods for the above information.
