David Johnson is a 35-year Wall Street veteran and has been a fixture on local and national media since 1975.
David has been KRLD's Business Analyst since 1980 and broadcasts approximately 85 business reports each week on the station. He co-anchors "The Nightly Business News" and can be heard twice daily state-wide on the Texas State Network.
After hosting his own television program, "Business Edition with David Johnson," on Dallas PBS-affiliate KERA, David was the business analyst for WFAA-TV Channel 8 from 1985 to 2006. In January 1999, he became a regular on the all-news cable channel TXCN where he hosted "Texas Legends in Business with David Johnson".
David joined Public Radio's "MARKETPLACE" program during its inaugural season in 1989 and was a regular contributor on "Marketplace" until resent heard by over 8 million listeners on almost 400 radio stations around the world.
David has appeared on many CNN programs, CBS Evening News, ABC News, Nightline, NBC Nightly News, The Weather Channel and ABC's The View.
David served a three-year stint as chairman of the board of Greenhill School in Dallas. He was an original member of the Dallas Area Rapid Transit Board, serving from 1983 to 1987, and is the winner of a Gold Medal from the New York International Film and TV Festival for his documentary "Tailspin."
Currently, David serves on the advisory board of the Cecil and Ida Green Center for the Study of Science and Society at the University of Texas at Dallas, the Executive Education Council at UTD and on the Dallas Business Hall of Fame selection committee of Junior Achievement of Dallas.
A graduate of Dallas' Greenhill School and the Sewanee: University of the South. David is the father of two sons, Ben and Sam. He and his wife Debbie have been married for 33 years.
