More Access For HOV Lanes Would Be Dangerous

A new study on the HOV lanes along Central Expressway in Richardson shows it would be too dangerous to add additional entrance and exit points. Right now, there's only one access point on the 14-mile stretch of HOV lanes between LBJ and Bethany Drive in Allen, and it's in Plano near Park.
The study shows drivers getting into the HOV lanes would have to gun it and those getting out would have to slow down quickly. The Texas Transportation Institute says it's going to do a more comprehensive study on the entire HOV system.
