The rain that's fallen over the last couple days has been spotty...and has quickly dried. Now area fire marshals are sounding the alarm for caution this Fourth of July weekend.
It seems the wet spring and the hot dry weather since then have resulted in a lot of dry brush. Certainly enough that when fireworks are set off it could touch off a major problem.
"Most cities in Collin County do not the posession or the discharge of fireworks within their city limits." said Collin County Fire Marshal Steve Deffibaugh. "They need to find somewhere in the unincorporated areas. And also get permission from the property owners."
Those five sites are along Lucas-Grinch Road near State Highway 391, near Cokeville on State Highway 78 and on FM 1827, east of FM 75 near Princeton.
