Nearly a dozen horses died from dehydration in Parker County where the Sheriff's office is asking the county attorney to decide if anyone should be charged. The animals were buried in a mass grave near Weatherford yesterday. Investigators believe a well that fed drinking troughs had mal-functioned. The Sheriff says the horses belonged to a prominent Weatherford breeder who had trusted a hired man to keep tabs on the mares. It's not clear whether the man knew the water troughs had run dry. This is the second time in a week that a herd of livestock died of thirst in North Texas. Nearly two dozen cattle were found dead in Denton County on Monday. A gate had inadvertently been left closed, cutting the animals off from their water source.
