CHIP Supporters Change Strategy

It’s a shift in strategy for the people that were pushing for Children’s Health Insurance expansion in Texas.  Houston Democratic State Representative Garnet Coleman is disappointed the Governor didn’t add CHIP expansion to the special session agenda, but he and the other supporters of CHIP expansion are moving on.  “Whether Governor Perry acted or not now we turn to reform on the national level that will bring children and adults into health coverage.”  Coleman says he would like to see a federal system that will give businesses a shot of finding affordable health coverage backed by the federal government to offer to their employees, including their employees’ kids.
