TxDot Installs Cameras Along I-35 in Denton County

Traffic jams in Denton County will soon be monitored by cameras up and down Interstate 35 E and Interstate 35 W from the Dallas and Tarrant County lines to just south of Highway 380.
TxDot's Cynthia White tells 1080-KRLD the new cameras will be monitored in their command center and by our own traffic reporters here at KRLD to get you the latest information on backups.  "Obviously there's going to be some on the Lewisville Lake Bridge; that's a strategic location," White said.
White says they often have Dallas county drivers ask them for tapes from the cameras, but she says they do not record and are not used for law enforcement purposes.  The Denton County cameras will be ready to test within two weeks.
