Two Toll Roads May Have Speed Limits Raised

It's still looking like you're going to pay more, but come this fall you may also be able to legally drive a little faster on local toll roads.
In an effort to conform to driver's current speeds, the Tollway Authority is ready to give final approval to raising the speed limit on the George Bush and the Dallas North Tollway to 70 miles an hour.  Government agencies have already signed off, and if the board says OK, the increase would go into effect this fall.
Also still on track for this fall, a toll increase to pad plunging toll revenues.  This, even after board members like Bob Day begged staff to come up with other ideas.  Next week the board could give the OK to the 30 percent rate hike.  Day is upset, not only with the amount of the proposed increase, but also with the fact they still haven't come up with a way to bill out of state drivers.
