The coast guard now says searchers have found human remains in a debris field that's believed to be what's left of a plane that took off from McKinney and crashed off the coast of Florida yesterday. Petty Officer Rob Simpson tells 1080-KRLD the wreckage is believed to be from a Cessna carrying two men employed by a company in Carrollton and some of their family members.
The remains that have been discovered in the water have been turned over to the medical examiner's office in Florida for identification. The plane is believed to have crashed in rough weather about 20 miles off the coast of Port Ritchey.
