Drunk Driver Crashes Into Fort Worth Police Car

A drunk driver was taken to a Fort Worth hospital early this morning after slamming into a police car on I-35 near Meacham Airport. The squad car was there because of an earlier crash on the freeway near the Meacham Boulevard exit. Firefighters had parked a fire truck in position to protect the accident scene. Somehow, the drunk managed to miss the fire truck but swerved into the police car, causing quite a bit of damage and injuring himself slightly. He was taken to the hospital to get checked out but his injuries were reportedly not life-threatening. The officer was not hurt because he was out of his squad car, setting flares around the original accident.
