Student From Dallas Dies In Fall While Studying in Communist China

A college student from Dallas has died in a fall while studying in Communist China. Arun Stewart graduated from Greenhill School, a private academy in Addison and was in his junior year at Brown, the Ivy League university in Rhode Island. This Fall, he began a year-long term in Beijing to study Chinese culture, history and language, especially the ancient Mandarin dialect. On Friday, the university learned that Stewart had fallen while attending a gathering of friends on the rooftop terrace of a Beijing apartment building. It's not clear how he lost his footing. His parents are now on their way to China to bring their son's body home. Last night, the Brown University chaplain's office hosted students who gathered to mourn their classmate. Plans for local memorial services have not been completed.
