ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) _ A handful of people in a building that houses a manufacturing lab at the University of Texas at Arlington have been evacuated after a gas alarm went off.
UTA spokeswoman Kristin Sullivan says there were no injuries and no fire at the building where the alarm sounded around 9:15 p.m. Monday.
She said Arlington firefighters had arrived. Sullivan says gases and various chemicals are used as part of the normal process at the lab where tiny wafers are made.
She said no classes were in progress in the building.
Calls to the Arlington Fire Department weren't immediately returned.
