Voters Approve Crime Fighting Tax

Fort Worth voters approve another 5 years of a crime fighting tax.   The half cent sales tax grabbed more than 80 percent of the votes, although turnout was light.   The tax generates about 50 million dollars  a year to  provide  anti-gang, anti-narcotics efforts.  In the last decade and a half Fort Worth has seen a 32 percent reduction in crime under the tax.
