MIDLAND, Texas (AP) _ Some students at a special needs school helped Midland native Laura Bush celebrate her birthday early with a video and a song.
The former first lady turned 63 on Wednesday.
Bush was at the Midland Center on Tuesday night to celebrate the
25th anniversary of the Bynum School. Bush praised the school by saying it's ``such a really great accomplishment.''
A surprise at the end of a video about the school featured students singing ``Happy Birthday'' to Bush.
About 600 people attended the fundraising event for the private school, which offers vocational and life skill programs for children and young adults with special needs.
Former President George W. Bush, who was in Japan on Tuesday and Wednesday, is a former Bynum board member.
