Senate Could Study New Child Predator Laws

The Lt. Governor says Texas may have to take another look at what it’s doing to keep kids away from sexual predators.  There are more than 45 thousand registered sex offenders in this state and that worries Lt. Governor David Dewhurst.  He says he may have the Senate investigate whether there should be a follow up to Jessica’s law to ensure we are doing everything possible to keep kids safe. “I’m talking right now not only with Senators but with DA’s, I just talked to Williamson County DA John Bradley, about additional ideas.”  Dewhurst is going through around 750 ideas of what Senators want to consider during the interim and should have his interim committee orders ready in two or three weeks.
