First Woman President Welcomed at Austin College

Austin College has now welcomed its first woman to serve as president in its 160-year history.  Doctor Marjorie Hass was installed yesterday during ceremonies in the chapel on the campus in Sherman.  She is the 15th president since the college was founded in 1849. While yesterday's installation is her official welcome to Austin College, she's actually been on the job since July.  Hass said she and other administrators have begun work on a five-to-ten year strategic plan which will likely be ready for public discussion in the spring.
