Republicans Pick Up a Texas House Seat



The Democrats lose a seat in the Texas House…and there isn’t even an election.  Democratic State Representative Chuck Hopson is now Republican State Representative Chuck Hopson.  Democratic Party Chair Boyd Ritchie is disappointed but says the Texas House will still be Democratic after the next election. “I remain confident that the Texas House of Representatives will have a Democratic Speaker of the House in the next legislative session.”  Republican Spokesman Bryan Preston says not so fast.  “I really thing will all due respect the other side is engaging in a little wishful thinking.”  Preston says the move hurts Democrats and will help his party maintain control of the Texas House.
