Obama To Attend Memorial Service Tuesday At Fort Hood
The White House says President Barack Obama will attend a memorial service Tuesday at Fort Hood where a gunman fatally shot 13 people.
Obama earlier today said in his radio and Internet address that the training designed to keep U.S. forces safe abroad prevented further deaths and ended Thursday's rampage.
More than two dozen people were wounded.
The suspected gunman, Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, was shot by police and remains hospitalized in San Antonio.

Sgt. Mark Todd today described to The Associated Press how he shot Hasan on Thursday to end the attack. Todd said he "kicked" the gun away from Hasan as soldiers nearby urged him to shoot the suspect again, fearing the gunman was still a danger.
Todd said he was not sure if fellow officer Sgt. Kimberly Munley had wounded Hasan. Todd wasn't hurt.
-- Gov. Rick Perry today visited with wounded victims from the Fort Hood shooting, at a hospital in Temple, and said his conversations with the soldiers were "humbling."
-- Former President George W. Bush and his wife, Laura, last night wounded soldiers at the post hospital.
-- An Islamic leader in Central Texas says he was troubled that Hasan was so conflicted over what to tell fellow soldiers about fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Osman Danquah, co-founder of the Islamic Community of Greater Killeen, said he was disturbed by Hasan's persistent questioning. He recommended the mosque reject Hasan's request to become a lay Muslim leader at the sprawling Army post.
