Three Alarm Retirement Home Fire Frightens Elderly Dallas Residents

An early morning three-alarm retirement home fire frightened dozens of elderly residents in North Dallas this morning.  Firefighters have controlled the flames at the Treemont Retirement Community near LBJ and the Dallas North Tollway.  Just after 7:30 a.m. Monday, flames and smoke were reported and the first fire crews on the scene quickly put out a second and then a third alarm, asking for more manpower and equipment.  Just after 8 a.m. Dallas Fire-Rescue reported the fire was under control.  No injuries were reported, although paramedics were assisting some of the elderly who seemed to be in distress.
