D.C. Sniper Executed, Denton Co. Case Remains Open

The execution of the DC sniper was closely watched by Denton County Sheriff's investigators who were hoping for a last-minute confession to a local murder.  John Muhammad and Lee Malvo have been suspected of the 2002 murder of a rural Denton County man since he was cut down by a bullet for no apparent reason.  Denton County Sheriff's Sergeant Roger Griggs says Malvo had mentioned the crime to investigators, but has since been mum.  And Griggs says Muhammad went to his death without making a final statement of any kind.  The case will remain open with hopes Malvo will begin talking again.
