Care-Flite crews were called to a Plano apartment where a fire broke out this morning. Firefighters found a ground-level unit in flames at La Costa, an apartment complex near Preston Road and Spring Creek Parkway. An elderly man was found on the floor near a sliding glass door, as if he had collapsed while trying to escape. He has severe burns on his legs and was flown to Parkland Hospital in serious condition.
